AbstractThe first luminescent tetranuclear copper(I) phosphinidene complex [Cu4(μ-dppm)4(μ4-PPh)](BF 4)2 has been synthesized and isolated; the red-light emitting properties and air-stability of the complex in the solid state may render great potential for this new class of compounds in the future development of semiconducting luminescence materials and applications in LED technology.
