Abstract | A luminescent bicapped trinuclear copper(I) acetylide complex, [cu 3(μ-dppm) 3(μ 3-η 1- c≡C-benzo-15-crown-5) 2]PF 6, has been synthesized and its photophysical properties studied. Sodium ion-binding by the crown ether cavity has been studied by electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry and emission spectroscopy. The crystal structure of [Cu 3(μ-dppm) 3(μ 3-η 1- C≡C-benzo-15-crown-5) 2]PF 6 has been determined. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. |
