AbstractWe calculate and present the shifts that are induced by predissociation of the band origins in the A 2Σ +-X 2∏ system of the hydroxyl radical 16OH, using a sum rule method in which the projection of the predissociating interaction onto a complete set of states is replaced by a single linear response. We present also the corresponding shifts for the isotopomers 18OH, 16OD and 18OD. © 2005 IOP Publishing Ltd.
