AbstractAtypical symptoms sometimes occur in association with organic brain conditions but may be misinterpreted as conversion symptoms. A case in which a 46-year-old woman presented with non-specific episodic dizziness related to leptomeningeal metastases is described. This case highlights the importance of considering organic causes in patients with atypical symptoms and the usefulness of magnetic resonance imaging for investigating possible organic causes. © 2007 Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists.
