AbstractThis paper describes a non-linear transmission-line modeling technique that can be employed to model power electronic circuits. The non-linearities that can be dealt with include the switching action of the power devices as well as the non-linear behavior of saturable inductors and multi-layer capacitors. With this new non-linear technique, the transmission-line modeling technique can now be used as a generalized discrete-time modeling tool for power electronic circuits. The non-linear technique is demonstrated in two examples and the simulations are found to be good.
