Professor Jianpeng Cao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Real Estate and Construction, Faculty of Architecture, the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate from Tongji University, Stanford University, and ETH Zurich, respectively. Following his doctoral studies, he held a postdoctoral position at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands.
His research links the construction industry with advanced information technologies and innovative project delivery models. He is working on generative design platforms (product configurators) for mass-customized buildings, knowledge graph applications to integrate design and manufacturing/construction processes, digital twins for offsite construction, and cloud manufacturing paradigms in industrialized construction.
He is willing to accept RA, MPhil/PhD student, and Postdoc who share his research interests and demonstrate self-driven motivation and research integrity. Students with diverse backgrounds (e.g., architecture, civil engineering, management, computer science, etc.) are all welcome to apply.
