Dr Sajjad Muhammad is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Landscape Architecture at the University of Hong Kong. Before joining HKU, he was a Research Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong Baptist University. Dr Sajjad earned his master’s degree (2015-2017, award of excellence) from Xiamen University, Fujian, China and doctoral degree (2017-2020) from The City University of Hong Kong (School of Energy and Environment).
With his multi-disciplinary background and diverse experiences, Dr Sajjad works on the frontiers of interdisciplinary climate research (Integrated Physical science, Social Aspects, and Technology) to explore the risk-resilience-sustainability nexus using spatial-data science approaches and provide practical solutions. He maintains research interests in Environmental Sustainability, Urban Planning/Design, Geo-AI, Machine Learning, Location Intelligence, Public Health, and interdisciplinary Climate Science. Geospatial applications are central to most of Dr Sajjad’s research.
