Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at the University of Hong Kong, a position I have held since 2024. My research focuses on advancing our understanding of cardiovascular and metabolic drugs in human populations, with a particular emphasis on lipid-lowering therapies and drugs that impact lipid and metabolic profiles. By examining trends in drug use and evaluating both beneficial and adverse effects, my work aims to improve population health through the rational and evidence-based use of medications in clinical practice.

My research leverages large-scale real-world healthcare data, primarily from Hong Kong but also from international sources, to address critical questions in pharmacoepidemiology, drug utilization, medication adherence, and evidence synthesis. These efforts are driven by a commitment to translating research findings into actionable insights that enhance patient care and public health outcomes.

As a registered pharmacist with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong, I bring a strong clinical foundation to my academic work. My clinical training includes a postgraduate hospital pharmacy residency with Alberta Health Services (Edmonton Zone) and five years of experience as a clinical pharmacist at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Canada. I am a member of leading professional organizations, including the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE), the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS), the Asia-Pacific Society of Atherosclerosis and Vascular Diseases (APSAVD), and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).
