My research interests are pharmacoepidemiology, drug utilization research and pharmacy practice research. This involves analyzing large data sets to understand patterns and trends of drug use and the effects (adverse or beneficial) of drugs, ultimately to improve the rational use of drugs. I am especially interested in lipid-modifying and antimicrobial drugs and usually use electronic health records from Hong Kong (or international sources). I am committed to advancing pharmacy practice in Hong Kong through the development of pharmacy practice research, a nascent area of research. I am a post-doctoral fellow in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong.
I maintain active registration as a pharmacist with the Alberta College of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong. My clinical pharmacy experience includes a postgraduate year 1 (PGY1) hospital pharmacy residency with Alberta Health Services (Edmonton) and five years as a clinical pharmacist at the University of Alberta Hospital in adult general internal medicine and critical care. I am also a member of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).
