Dr. Quanlei Li is currently a Research Assistant Professor at School of Nursing, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He received his bachelor’s degree from School of Nursing, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2009, and his master’s degree from School of Nursing, Fudan University (FDU) in 2012. He was a master exchange student at School of Nursing, National Taiwan University (NTU) in 2010. In addition, he received his MPH degree from Department of Global Health, University of Washington (UW) in 2015, and his PhD degree from School of Nursing, Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in 2023.
Dr. Li’s research interests include intimate partner violence (IPV), implementation science, global health, and evidence-based practice. His MSN thesis focused on development of clinical practice guidelines via a standard evidence-based approach, and his MPH thesis comprehensively described the global health education in Chinese universities and explored the potential of nursing in global health. His PhD dissertation provided the first comprehensive study on nursing’s response to IPV in China’s Mainland, including nurses’ preparedness and opinions towards IPV, as well as barriers and facilitators in responding to IPV. Dr. Li’s current research focuses on improving IPV responses in the health sector through implementation science approach, especially by mobilizing and leveraging the role of nurses. Dr. Li has vast experience and expertise in qualitative research methods, such as phenomenology and qualitative descriptive design, as well as mixed-methods design and the integration of qualitative and quantitative findings. As a global health researcher, Dr. Li has been closely working with colleagues with diverse and multidisciplinary backgrounds in China’s Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Taiwan, as well as the United States and United Kingdom.
Dr. Li serves as the Editorial Board Member and Executive Chief Secretary for Chinese version of Journal of Nursing Scholarship. He is also the reviewer for more than 20 peer-reviewed journals including The Lancet Regional Health-Western Pacific, Journal of Family Violence, Implementation Science Communications, Journal of Nursing Scholarship, Nurse Education Today, Nursing Outlook, BMJ family journals, and BMC family journals.
