Alessandra Cianchetta is an architect and the founder of AWP/AWILDC. Her design projects include Poissy Galore, a museum set in a park near Paris, an arts district in Liverpool, UK and In-Land living, a series of art barns Upstate New York. a series of collectible art pavilions, the first to be launched in Miami’s Design District, in collaboration with DACRA.
Cianchetta has previously worked on major large-scale urban projects such as Paris’CBD La Defense and the PAV masterplan for the State of Geneva (Switzerland).
Cianchetta’s projects and artworks have been presented at and are part of the collections of museums and venues worldwide such as MAXXI National Museum in Rome, City of Architecture and Heritage, Paris, MoMA Museum of Modern Art, the Storefront for Architecture & Art and, the ISCP in New York and the Design Museum in London.Cianchetta’s work has been presented at the Biennale Architettura in Venice (2021) Istanbul Art Biennial Saltwater ( 2015, with A.Soliman), the Lisbon Architecture Triennial(2016),the Chicago Architecture Biennale (2017)the LIAF – Lofoten Contemporary Art Biennial (2022). It has been featured in NY Times, Wallpaper, The Guardian, PIN-UP magazine, and BBC, among other media.
Cianchetta has taught design studios and seminars bridging architecture and art at Cornell University, Yale University, University of Virginia, Columbia University GSAPP, The University of Miami, The Cooper Union in New York, the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and The Berlage in Rotterdam/Delft among others.
