Short Biography:

Assistant Professor: Hui Li received her doctoral degree in public policy and management from the University of Southern California. Prior to joining the University of Hong Kong, she was an assistant professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Central Florida (2016-2018). Her research focuses on public and nonprofit management, organization theory, and civic engagement. She has published in Public Administration ReviewAdministration & Society, and Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, among others. She has been actively involved in several research projects. In collaboration with a team of researchers, she studies NGOs and environmental governance in authoritarian China. In addition, she works closely with colleagues from the Civic Engagement Initiative at USC and studies neighborhood councils and civic engagement in Los Angeles.
