Professor Goo, Say Hak 吳世學
Say H Goo is Professor and Director of the Faculty’s Asian Institute of International Financial Law (AIIFL) and Japan and Korea Programme. He joined HKU in 1995 after five years of teaching at the University of Exeter and the University of East Anglia, England. Over the years, he has taught many subjects including Contract Law, Land Law, Company Law, Insolvency Law and Trust, and Corporate Governance. In the past, he has also served as Deputy Head of Department of Law, Admissions Tutor, Founding Director of AIIFL and Founding Director of LLM (CFL) Programme.
He has acted as reviewer for Cambridge University Press, HKU Press, Ashgate Publishing Ltd, Cavendish Publishing Ltd, Journal of Corporate Law Studies (UK),Hong Kong Law Journal, Company and Securities Law Journal (Australia), andJournal of Business Law (UK), and some universities’ promotion exercises. He has also appeared in local TV interviews.
He has delivered lectures in Beijing, Taipei, Tokyo, Zurich, Melbourne, Brisbane and Okinawa, and was invited by Professor John Ruggie of Harvard University (Special Representative of the Secretary General of UN on Business and Human Rights), to speak at an Expert Consultation in Toronto in Support of the Corporate Law Tools Project of the UN Special Representative and nominated by the HK Government to speak at an APEC conference in Washington DC. He has also delivered conference papers in Shanghai, Berlin, Reading, Hong Kong, Macau, Sydney, and Singapore.
