Objectives
Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display is a strategic emerging industry. Current development of this technology is facing two main problems: (1) traditional organic emitters have a wide emission bandwidth and low color purity, which is hard to meet the wide color gamut requirements of ultra-high-definition displays; (2) blue light-emitting materials and devices do not exhibit both high efficiency and long operational lifetime, resulting in higher device power consumption and faster degradation. This project is based on sensitized OLED technology, using thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials or phosphorescent materials as sensitizers, and narrow bandwidth fluorescent materials as emitters to achieve OLEDs with narrow bandwidth, long operational lifetime, and high efficiency. This project will establish and develop new methods to prepare high-efficiency electro-optical conversion materials, develop new device structures with improved electro-optical conversion efficiency, break through the limitations of high efficiency and long lifespan of full-color OLEDs, particularly blue OLEDs, in order to support the development of organic optoelectronics industry.
