Objectives
1. Investigate the requirements of edge AI applications, and identify the challenging issues in the acceleration of the training and inference of AI models in a distributed and heterogeneous edge computing environment.
2. Design a systematic edge AI acceleration framework with methods, algorithms, and mechanisms to addressing the scientific challenges of edge AI acceleration.3. Develop a holistic system platform of edge AI acceleration integrating the proposed framework and solutions.
4. Develop a prototype system with an example application in autonomous vehicles to extensively evaluate the performance of the edge AI acceleration platform.
