Objectives
(1) To characterize the day-to-day fluctuation of chemical compositions and sources of fine particulate matter (a.k.a PM2.5) at a representative urban site in Hong Kong for one year. (2) To characterize the day-to-day fluctuation of PM2.5 oxidative potential (OP) paired with daily PM2.5 composition and to examine the complex dose-response relationships between the two. (3) To match both the daily PM2.5 composition and OP metrics with daily health data (i.e., cardiopulmonary mortality and hospital admissions) of the general population of Hong Kong in a one-year time series and to examine preliminarily the acute health effects of distinct PM2.5 components and OP metrics.
