Objectives
The proposed trial project will focus on the refinement and evaluation of the sequence recognition software database using the sequence matching method for the automated identification of fungal species. The project will involve two parts, (1) expansion of the developed sequence recognition software database by the addition of fungal sequences of the two DNA markers benA and CaM, based on all medically important fungi as listed in the Atlas of Clinical Fungi; (2) evaluation of the usefulness of the refined sequence recognition software database using a total of 200 fungal strains isolated by the participating organisation
