Objectives
1. To analyse how ethnic and religious minorities in Mainland China, Macau, and Taiwan are represented in primary and secondary school textbooks for social studies subjects (History, Moral and Character Education, and Moral and Political Education in Mainland China; Moral and Civic Education and Social and Humanities Education in Macau; and Social Studies, Civics and Society, and History in Taiwan). 2. To compare the extent, substance, and evolution of multicultural elements (focused particularly on ethnic and religious minorities) in Mainland China, Macau, Taiwan, and Hong Kong government-school curriculum since the 1980s.
