Objectives
To develop fast and efficient methods for the diagnosis (including pre-natal) of the genetic diseases prevalent in Hong Kong; to study the mechanism of haemoglobin switching using an animal model with a view to future management of genetic diseases and applications to gene therapy; to investigate the basic mechanisms of gene expression, a problem of fundamental importance in molecular biology.
