Objectives
Sjogren’s syndrome (SS) is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by lymphocytic infiltration and tissue destruction of exocrine organs. Currently, SS patients have suffered from a lack of effective treatments in clinical management. Recently we have successfully established a mouse model of experimental SS (ESS) and identified the critical role of T cell subsets, including Th17 and T follicular helper (Tfh) cells in the disease development. In this study, we aim to explore a novel therapeutic strategy by targeting peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR).
