Objectives
1) To gain full understanding of the physics behind the spectral imbalance that limits the performance of existing sound absorbers. 2) To explore how smart interior acoustic structures can be designed and used to break new grounds for spectral matching between the silencer and the noise source characteristics. 3) To study what external shape is best for a sound absorber both aerodynamically and acoustically. 4) To investigate acoustic scattering effects for multiple sound-foils subject to aerodynamic constraint.
