Objectives
In this project, we will develop a novel smart prosthetic control technology based on intelligent surface electromyographic (SEMG) from wearable textile electrodes. The development will include the design of textile-SEMG-based control system, development of multifunctional prosthesis and the related clinical training methods and platform. The outcome of this project can provide a new type of upper limb prostheses system for upper extremity amputees and patients with hand disables. It will greatly benefit the disables with rehabilitation, to restore hand function, to improve quality of life, and to promote opportunities for disables to interact with the community. The research and development of new technology will provide a new medical and health service tool for Hong Kong. It will upgrade rehabilitation equipment manufacturing industry in great bay area.
