Objectives
Adipocytes and adipose progenitors are becoming recognized as mechano-sensitive cells, but identity of the mechano-sensors and underlying mechanisms are still obscure. This study aims at exploring the functional role of the mechano-sensitive ion channel Piezo1 in the regulation of adipogenesis, lipid metabolism and activity/formation of thermogenic brown and beige adipocytes.
