Objectives
1 1. To study the longitudinal association between child maltreatment and mental disorders, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and self-harm/suicide attempts 2. To study the longitudinal association between child maltreatment and educational/social outcomes, including academic achievement and employment 3. To study the longitudinal association between child maltreatment and indicators of physical health, including injury, obesity, as well as biological markers that reflect the stress exposure, including interleukin 6 level and telomere length 4. To examine the roles of demographics (gender and socioeconomic status), abuse characteristics (type and age of maltreatment), and psychological assets (resilience and social support) on the association between child maltreatment and outcomes
