Objectives
1 Primary objective 1: To conduct an ecological analysis of secular trends in reports of poisoning cases from ADHD medications and the number of prescriptions issued by the Hong Kong Hospital Authority between 2009 and 2018. 2 Primary objective 2: To conduct a self-controlled case series to evaluate the risk of accident and emergency and/or hospital admission due to poisoning during periods of exposure to ADHD medications compared to periods of non-exposure in patients with ADHD. 3 Secondary objective 1a: To conduct a narrative review of cases poisoned with ADHD medication in patients with ADHD and subjects without ADHD. 4 Secondary objective 2a: To explore how comorbidities modify the risk of poisoning in patients with ADHD.
