Objectives
Central nervous system (CNS) embryonal tumors are common pediatric brain tumors with poor outcome. Recent application of genome-wide DNA methylation profiling revealed clinically relevant subclasses as well as new entities that could not be readily defined by conventional methods. There is paucity of knowledge as to how these newly defined methylation classes relate to patient outcome when they are managed uniformly with standard treatment protocols.
