Objectives
1) To elucidate and better understand the fundamental phonon scattering mechanisms in large-unit-cell semiconductors containing loosely bonded constituent atoms; 2) To establish a new approach for future studies of lattice thermal transport and phonon-phonon interactions in complex crystals; 3) To develop new argyrodite alloys with enhanced thermoelectric efficiency for important industrial applications such as waste heat recovery and energy harvesting.
