1 To further evaluate whether FGF21 signaling is involved in exercise-induced alleviation of metabolic disturbance, insulin resistance and lipotoxicity in diabetic hearts; 2 To investigate whether FGF21 mediates the cardiac protection of exercises via its direct actions in cardiomyocytes or indirect effects in adipose tissues; 3 To interrogate whether cardiac SirT3 is an obligatory downstream signaling molecule of FGF21 mediating the cardio-protective activities of physical exercise
