Objectives
1 To examine the metaphoric constructions of music-theoretical and psychological discourses. 2 To critically analyze the discursive space of music, mind, and body in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly in line with Foucauldian archeology of knowledge. 3 To illuminate the significance of body and force as central metaphors in our conceptualization of music in the past and present. 4 To reevaluate the significance of the body and materiality in the discussion of music for both historical and modern scholarship.
