Objectives
Seasonal influenza vaccination rates among young children remain low in Hong Kong. This study is proposed to examine the effectiveness of sending vaccination reminders to parents via mobile phone-based social media specifically WhatsApp for improving vaccination uptake among children aged between 6 months and 6 years. Moreover, the proposed study will compare the effectiveness of sending vaccination reminders via WhatsApp individually (individual-based intervention) with that via a WhatsApp discussion group plus encouraging updating vaccination uptake among group members (social networking-based intervention) on promoting vaccination uptake.
