Objectives
1 To use driving simulation technology and multiple measures from disciplines to examine impacts of a variety of freeway landscapes on drivers’ mental fatigue, stress and negative mood. 2 To provide concrete evidence for freeway developers, designers, and managers to create safe and restorative driving environments. We expect the findings will improve the current planning regulations and design solutions for freeway environments. 3 Through vigorous international and multi-disciplinary cooperation, we aim to use this project to initiate a leading research laboratory in Hong Kong to address crucial built environment and human health problems in Asia.
