Objectives
1. Synthesize around 50 daptomycin analogues for antibacterial screening, including daptomycin-A54145 hybrid compounds. 2. Develop a total synthesis of mannopeptimycin and synthesize around 30 mannopeptimycin analogues for antibacterial screening. Establish its structure-activity relationship. 3. Develop a total synthesis of teixobactin and synthesize around 20 teixobactin analogues for antibacterial screening. Establish its structure-activity relationship. 4. Perform structural and functional characterization of cyclic peptide antibiotic analogues. 5. Evaluate the toxicity and in vivo activity of the synthesized analogues.
