Objectives
1) [Auction for Offline VM Provisioning and Pricing]: To formulate the offline VM provisioning problem, and design an offline auction for VM allocation and charging; 2) [Auction for Online VM Resource Provisioning, Scaling and Pricing]: To formulate the dynamic VM provisioning and scaling problem with resource occupation times and server provisioning decisions, and design online auctions for resource allocation and charging; 3) [Auction for Online Virtual Cluster Provisioning and Pricing]: To formulate the problem for virtual cluster provisioning in and across data centers, and design online auctions for virtual cluster allocation and charging; 4) [Implementation and Evaluation]: To implement our mechanisms in a toolkit, and evaluate their performance by deploying the toolkit onto practical cloud platforms.
