Professor Lee, Tong King 李忠慶
Dr T. K. (Tong King) Lee was trained in linguistics, law, and translation at the National University of Singapore, University of Edinburgh, and University of Queensland respectively. He holds several professional qualifications, including Certified Translator of NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters), Chartered Linguist of CIOL (Chartered Institute of Linguists, UK), and Specialist of HKCAAVQ (Hong Kong Council for the Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications). He has authored the books Choreographies of Multilingualism (Oxford University Press, 2022), Translation as Experimentalism (Cambridge University Press, 2022), Translation and Translanguaging (Routledge, 2019; with Mike Baynham), Applied Translation Studies (Bloomsbury, 2018), and Experimental Chinese Literature (Brill, 2015), as well as research articles in premium journals such as the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, Applied Linguistics Review, and Language in Society. His research interests include experimental and intersemiotic translation, translingual practices in social media communication, translanguaging in aesthetic contexts, and the commodification of vernacular languages in East Asian cities. He is an associate editor of Translation Studies (a Routledge journal) and an executive editor of Journal of Oriental Studies, and is currently writing a new book on translingual Hong Kong English on social media for Cambridge University Press.
