Abstract | The uses of metallo-supermolecular polymers as the functional materials are of considerable interest in various research areas due to their unique photophysical, catalytic and magnetic properties. Promising material processibility and large versatility of synthetic chemistry in tailoring the chemical structure and physical properties are the merits of metal-containing polymers. The incorporation of ruthenium (II) complex on polymer backbone has opened up a new possibility in the applications of organic light emitting diodes and photovoltaic devices. Here we report a new Ru(II) coordination polymer with good solubility synthesized by self-assembly polymerization in a mixed solvent system. The fiber-like red polymer exhibited excellent solubility in polar solvent like DMF and DMSO, and was characterized by NMR spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, UV-vis and emission measurements. |
