AbstractA class of high spin systems with twofold orbital degeneracy was analyzed in the limits of large spin. The method was applied to study case where isotropic electron hopping integrals were present and the effects of the quantum spin fluctuations were examined using the linearized spin wave theory. It was found that orbital valence bond state was stable in a certain parameter region.
