AbstractWhile clinically rich field experiences may yield deep learning within schools, teacher education programs must also prepare novice teachers to learn from and with the community outside school walls. In this scenario planning session, we present two teacher residency programs - one urban and one rural --and our attempts to disrupt and unpack prevalent stereotypes of 'urban' and 'rural' in teacher education in order to identify and incorporate the many assets found in these places.
