Abstract | A metro system provides a customer-centric service, while the delay of waiting on the platform greatly impacts
passengers' travel experience. This paper proposes a novel framework to identify critical components of a metro system by
examining the change of waiting punctuality due to possible disruptions or improvement occurring on one component. In static
scenarios, candidates of critical components are determined by assessing the average passenger load and origin-destination pairs
over one component. Then in dynamic scenarios, these candidates are further evaluated by the change of waiting punctuality. This
proposed model is applied to Shenzhen metro network to identify critical components. Results show that the proposed model can
be used to develop a component priority classification for practical planning and train scheduling. |
