AbstractInstructors: Dr. Kendrick C Shih, Dr. Alex LK Ng, Dr. Vanissa WS Chow, Dr. Tommy CY Chan Objectives: In regards to SJS and TEN, the attendee will be able to: 1) Select appropriate treatment for acute ocular surface inflammation to minimise long-term morbidity 2) Offer comprehensive long-term care for visual and ocular surface rehabilitation 3) Select appropriate patients who would benefit from surgical interventions Synopsis: The course is divided into 1) acute ocular care of patients with SJS/TEN 2) long-term care of late ocular manifestations 3) surgical options for visual and ocular surface rehabilitation. The procedures discussed for this session will include autologous serum treatment, scleral contact lens fitting, amniotic membrane transplantation, ocular surface reconstruction, simple limbal epithelial transplantion and keratoprosthesis. This instruction course is intended for general ophthalmologists who are keen to develop a systematic and effective approach in the management of severe inflammatory ocular surface disease. Course Outline: This is a comprehensive course on management of early and late ocular complications of SJS and TEN.
