Abstract | The management of esophageal cancer poses unique challenges to clinicians. Significant improvement has been made in managing this disease. Despite increase in therapeutic modalities, surgery remains the mainstay treatment. In this chapter, various surgical approaches, reconstructive techniques and the rationale of lymphadenectomy is described. Surgery for esophageal cancer is complex and surgeons should be versatile in applying different methods in appropriate situations. |
