AbstractThis paper reports on a case study of four teachers’ beliefs and practices in a context of curriculum reform in China. Delineating the interplay of teachers’ beliefs, practices and the contextual factors, this paper argues that the teacher, the institution and the culture of learning are mutually informing and constitutive.
