AbstractThis study explores how a major research university in Hong Kong organizes its graduate education to support interdisciplinary, international and cross-sectoral partnerships addressing global health challenges. The rise of pandemic threats such as SARS and H1N1 has urged academic decision-makers to seek more adequate frameworks for preparing collaboration brokers who can generate synergies among multiple stakeholders locally and globally. By engaging the theory of resource dependence, the study examines how the emerging field of global health in Hong Kong engages multiple stakeholders and reshapes teaching and learning in the academic programs aiming to become part of global architecture of pandemic mitigation.
