Dr Liu, Xingjian 劉行健
Xingjian Liu received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in the UK, and joined the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the University of Hong Kong in Spring 2015. He has previously studied at Wuhan University in China (Bachelor’s) and taught at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the US. Xingjian has received a number of scholarly awards, including Regional Studies Association & Routledge Early Career Award (2015); Association of American Geographers (AAG)-Regional Development and Planning Specialty Group Emerging Scholar Award (2013); Third Prize, Jin Jingchang China Urban Planning Excellent Papers Award (2015); and First Place, Annual Research Award, AAG-Graduate Affinity Specialty Group (2012). He is an associate director of the Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) research network, as well as the Beijing City Lab.
