Dr Hui, Christy Lai Ming 許麗明
Dr Christy LM Hui is currently a Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, the University of Hong Kong (HKU). She has been teaching a Master’s level course on Psychosis Studies at the HKU since 2011. She awarded her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Jan 2009 and has been an active researcher in the Psychosis Studies and Intervention programme at the HKU since 2004 with specific interests in relapse prevention, medication adherence, cognitive dysfunction and long-term outcome of early psychosis. The core of her interest is the uncovering of relapse predictors and the development of early intervention in early psychosis. Pursuing a research career in the field of psychotic disorders, she published over 60 scientific peer-reviewed journal articles, such as British Medical Journal, JAMA Psychiatry, and Schizophrenia Research. Not only awarded the Young Scientist Award twice at the International Schizophrenia Research conference in 2006 and 2008, she also attained the Doris Zimmern HKU-Cambridge Hughes Hall Fellowship in 2012 and worked as a research fellow at the University of Cambridge. During her leisure time, she participates in promoting local awareness of psychosis by serving as a secretary in the Hong Kong Early Psychosis Foundation (EPISO) since 2007.
