Short Biography:

Prof. Junwen Wang is currently a Professor at Faculty of Dentistry and a PI in the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, the University of Hong Kong. Prior to current position, he was a Professor of Biomedical Informatics in Department of Quantitative Health Sciences, Center for Individualized Medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine & Science. He received his undergraduate and graduate trainings in China, and obtained his PhD from the University of Washington and MS from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Center for Bioinformatics, University of Pennsylvania. He received outstanding young researcher award from HKU in year 2011-12, and was among the top 1% cited researchers by ISI essential citation in years 2013, 2014. Two of his former PhD students have been awarded HKU Outstanding Research Postgraduate Award and several of them became faculty members in the USA (Baylor College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic), Hong Kong (HKU, CUHK) and China (TJMU, SYS-SZ etc). He is currently an Associate Editor of Human Heredity, and Cancer Immunology, Immunotherapy and Academic editor of PLOS ONE.
