Professor Jiang, Bin 姜斌
Dr. Bin JIANG is an assistant professor in Landscape Architecture at the University of Hong Kong. He holds a PhD degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in USA.
Dr. Jiang’s research focuses on investigating impacts of built environment on public health and wellbeing, social justice, sustainable urbanism, and environmental crisis. 3-D technology, visual simulation technology, quantitative research methods, and physiological, psychological, and hormone measures of human health are used for research. He has a strong collaboration with two leading research laboratories in U.S. and Asia: Dr. William C. Sullivan’s lab at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Dr. Chun-yen Chang’s lab at the national Taiwan University.
Dr. Jiang also works as a landscape planner and designer. As a practitioner, he closely worked with two important contemporary landscape architects: Peter Walker and Kongjian Yu. He had a 12 years’ continuous practice experience before he joined HKU in January 2015.
