Professor Wang, Man Ping 王文炳
Kelvin obtained his degrees on Bachelor of Nursing (BN), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He is Professor, Assistant Dean (Professional Development in Health Sciences) of LKS Faculty of Medicine, Director of Doctor of Nursing Programme, Fellow of American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), Fellow of UK Faculty of Public Health (FFPH), Team leader of Smoking Cessation & Tobacco Control team (HKU), Associate Editor of BMC Public Health and editorial board member of Scientific Reports, and Council member of Nursing Council of Hong Kong, Council member of Council on Human Reproductive Technology, Governing Committee Member of HK NT West & HK Island South District Health Centers. He has published more than 240 papers (e.g. JAMA Internal Medicine, Lancet Digital Health, Addiction, Tobacco Control, etc.) (h-index: Scopus 31, Google Scholar 38), Top 1% by citation (Essential Science Indicators) in 2023 & 2024, and awarded Faculty Outstanding Research Output in 2022. His research focuses on behavioral intervention, addiction, policy evaluation, and social and commercial determinent of health. He led the team on alternative tobacco products (ATPs) research has been awarded Faculty Knowledge Exchange Award in 2022 for the impactful research on total ban of ATPs. The Community-based Smoking Cessation Program has been awarded American Academy of Nursing Edge Runner as an excellent nursing model. He has led the impact case of smoking cessation in 2020 RAE and be selected to be featured in TV program:
