Professor Chan, Yiu Che 陳耀志
Dr. YC Chan currently works in the Division of Vascular Surgery of The University of Hong Kong at Queen Mary Hospital. He is the Secretary General for the Asian Surgical Association, Director of Surgical Admission at Queen Mary Hospital, and member of the MBBS Curriculum Committee of the University. After graduating from Westminster & Charing Cross Medical School, University of London, he was Clinical Research Fellow and Lecturer at St. Mary’s Hospital (Imperial College, London), and obtained the Doctorate of Medicine degree in 2004. He underwent higher surgical training at Guy’s, St. Thomas’and King’s Hospitals in London, and was the Senior Vascular Fellow at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital from 2006 to 2007. He obtained the United Kingdom Intercollegiate Examination FRCS (General Surgery) in 2004, and the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training UK (CCST) in General/ Vascular Surgery in 2005. He currently is the Principal Investigator and Co-investigator of many local and international grants and awards. He has delivered more than 60 presentations at international vascular conferences, and has published book chapters and over 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is a reviewer of many vascular journals. Dr. Chan is a practising vascular specialist with particular interests in carotid disease, endovascular aortic surgery and minimally invasive treatment of peripheral arterial disease. He is also supervising projects on vascular biology. He received the UCLA Travelling Scholarship to University of California, Los Angeles in 2012.
