Biography
Dr Chu is a professor and the Associate Dean (External relations) of the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. Dr Chu is the President Elect of the Asia Academy of Preventive Dentistry, Vice President of ConsAsia and the Immediate Past President of the South East Asian Association of Dental Education. Dr Chu was conferred Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Master of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Philosophy from HKU. He is a Fellow in Dental Surgery (by examination) and a Dental Examiner of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is also a Fellow (by examination) and Specialty Board Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He is a Fellow in Dental Surgery (by examination) of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. He is a Diplomate (by examination) of the American Board of General Dentistry. He is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and received the Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition award. He is an active member of International Association of Dental Research (IADR). He and his research team presented more than 200 abstracts and won a handful research awards in the IADR meetings. His research interests include caries prevention and management, fluorides in particular silver diamine fluoride and community dental care.
