Abstract | The higher-order modes of a 12-rung degenerated low-pass birdcage coil for parallel imaging has been evaluated using FDTD simulations in a spherical
phantom at 3T. When all 6 order modes are incorporated, the acceleration factor can be up to 4 with average g-factor less than 1.8 and maximum g-factor
less than 3.6. For certain number of channels, the optimized combination of corresponding modes can be obtained. For a specific number of receive channel
in MRI system, the optimum combination of modes can be obtained based on different acceleration factors. |
