Abstract | A novel DC-DC converter with ZVS topology is introduced. An amplitude modulated squarewave train is generated and the output can be controlled by the amplitude of this squarewave train. As energy is directly transferred to the output, it is named the Direct Coupling Converter (DCC). This topology is simple and has inherent ZVS characteristics. The basic topology and a topology with a transformer is introduced. Theoretical analysis for the topology with an isolating transformer and results from a 50 W offline experimental prototype are presented in this paper. |
